History of Taramati Baradari
The Baradari is on the banks of the Musi river. It comes under the city regional limits of Hyderabad, India. The tourism department of Telangana took over the complex and renovated the same.
Abdullah Qutb Shah, king of Golkoda named it as the Sarai Taramati Baradari after two courtesan sisters who were his favorite. Theye were Taramati and Premavati.
What is the Story of Taramati Baradari?
The tourism department is promoting the location by romantic stories which are related to the king and courtesans named Taramati & Premamati. The story states that during the kingship of Abdullah Qutb Shah, who use to hear songs sung by Taramati and she use to sing for the travelers at the Serai {A caravansary for travelers with a central courtyard something like a hotel of that time}.
His (king) place was about 2kms away which is at Golconda fort form the Taramatoi Baradari, he use to hear her melodious voice which was carried by the winds. There are not historical records of it byt it’s a hear and say story which is believed to be truthful.
Another folklore says there were two ravishing dancing sisters, Taramati and Premamati, who danced on ropes tied between the two ends of the complex for the king and fan, the Abdulla Qutub Shah.
In the memory and the a tribute and mark of respect to Taramati and also Premamati, they both were buried in the royal cemetery of the Qutub Shahi Tombs.
Renovation of Taramati Baradari;
The Complex has 12 doorways and it was constructed in such a way to allow cross ventilation. A rare wind technique were used for its construction of that time

Timings and entry fee at Taramati Baradari complex:
For general public its opened between 11 am to 6 pm and the entry fee is free through out the year.
